Last week Year 5 took part in a Bird Beak
Experiment. This experiment required students to use common household items to
represent different bird beaks and collect as many lollies within a period of
20 seconds. We used toothpicks, forks, spoons, pegs and straws. You might be
thinking the straw would be the most effective however it was the toothpick.
Here are some photos and videos of our experiment!
We also started creating our own ice cores.
We started by putting water into a bottle and adding a material then freezing
it. The process was repeated the following day when we added another layer.
This experiment still continues.
On Friday 7th August St
Michael’s celebrated the Feast Day of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop. Year 6 organised a day of activities
and students were encouraged to dress up as something starting with the letter ‘M’.
Across the school it was great to see so
many creative ideas.
