Term 3 Week 3

Every morning Year 5 come in and do silent reading.

In literacy groups we have continued reading our books. We have worked through comprehension activities and have looked at the main theme that is conveyed through our texts.

For writing this week we have been preparing information reports on an Antarctic animal of our choice.

In Maths this week Year 5 completed our multiplication and division unit. We also started looking at angles. We couldn’t believe how many angles there are; right angle, acute angle, obtuse angle, reflex angle and revolution angle.

In sport we did a dance called stomp using sport equipment. Here are some photos!

In HSIE and Science we have been working through our Earthscapes and Antarctica units. Next week we will be doing a science experiment which we are all looking forward to.

On Tuesday we were fortunate enough to watch the NED Show. NED is a cartoon character whose name is an acronym for Never give up, Encourage others, and Do your best. The show was hosted by one lady named Jessica, she had amazing yo-yo tricks. Our school has now assigned a yo-yo zone for students to work at their yo-yo tricks.
